im wondering how do people like the lens with rebels, is the viewfinder big enough to manually focus i really want this lens i dont have a camera right now but im trying to decide if i should get a t2i and get this lens or just go all out and get the 7d and skip this lens because i already have a 17-40L and a 50 1.4. I dont want to do to much overlaping lens and the 50 1.4 is already pretty close focal length but i really i can't decide i already had the t2i and sold it and then went to a 50d but didn't like the noise and kind of missed the video and returned it too adorama now i have to decide suggestions please i can't get this out of my mind what to do.

Which body have you ownd? Can you live with a starters body.

The 7D is a great body, that has many advantages against the t2i. I would go for a better body.

So why do you think the Zeiss would be better or why do you want another prime at that focal length?

a reason why I'm thinking the t2i over the 7d is I will lose all the auto focus features of the 7d if I get a zeiss

I would bet 9/10 of those pictures were also on a FF camera. On a crop camera, it is just a basic normal prime.

Zeiss lenses are exceptions but with a crop body and a small viewfinder I think you will be frustrated. On a full-frame like 5D or 5D II you will have an easier time. If you do want a high quality manual lens then also consider the Voightlander 40mm; it's way cheaper and loses nothing worth bothering about in terms of usability, build or IQ. Both the 35mm and 40mm are too long IMO for walkaround use on a crop body even so, but some do like longer so your call. The 25mm Zeiss is nice and works well for urban shooting. If you do go Zeiss then try it with the body you're considering and judge how well you can MF.

I did alot of manually focusing with my sigma 30 with a t2i didn't have alot of problems that's what I am worried about if the viewfinder is to small that's why I like the 7d with 100% coverage or I could get the 60d that has 96% coverage in the viewfinder

7D + Sigma 30mm or Canon 35mm f/2 are good inexpensive combos. However, I will say that the 17-40mm works really well with the 7D + flash. I sold my 35mm since I hardly used it after I got the 17-40.
