So I was on the Washington, DC mall around 5 pm one bright crystalline Friday. The light was great on the Capital building, as witnessed by a half dozen photographers standing by their tripods. My daughter asked me, "Aren't you going to take a picture?" I replied, "I did. Years ago." She reminded me that I got a good cherry blossoms picture a year and a half ago when I also made the "been there, done that" comment. So I told her that I'd take a shot if I could make it different from what I'd already done. So how's this?

The shadows are a bit heavy, but your composure is fine.

I agree, great composition. Can you lighten tree and statue to pull out some detail? Might have been a good candidate for HDR (not the overdone kind) where there are to very different lighting situations.
