for Macro "1DsmkII or 5DmkII" ?

you seem happy with both 7D and 5DmkII, I guess the IQ between the two cameras is not an issue.

I think you should look at how else you will use the camera, then decide accordingly. Unless this camera will be a dedicated macro camera, you could find other uses for it. This might put the edge on the FF for you, etc.

Macro is my 1st priority and having a camera specifically for that purpose is important for me. For cropping purposes and high resolution, yes the FF might be better suited for "my" needs. The 5DmkII also having video is a plus, I would use it for sure. Guess the answer is as follows, for my macro needs, 5DmkII fits.

For bird photography the 7D seems a good fit for me.
