Thanks for the comments everyone! Appreciate it mizouse wrote in post #11070252 thanks, ill keep that in mind for next year. i was out by forbes island. pier 41 is the name of it i guess. No problem. The Forbes Island area would be Pier 39 which is pretty far for taking photos of the show. Center point is pretty much around Fort Mason, in between Marina Green and Aquatic Park. If you plan to go next year I would really recommend Yacht Road which is right in front of Marina Green. rjx wrote in post #11071389 I don't normally go gaga over aviation photography but I really enjoyed the images you posted. May I also ask the time you arrived at you're spot? I'm planning for next October. ![]() Thanks! Even though I've only shot the event a handful of times I've been going every year since I was younger so it helped me knowing most of their routine and routes Toshi [••

I think what windpig means is that there should be a giant cloud of vapor around that Hornet becuase the RH in SF usually fairly high. Jay

It's unusual to see the shockwave effect like this without the cloud. 12 years ago when they came up for Sea Fair here in Seattle, they did their program over Elliot Bay instead of Lk Washington. One of their points of reference was the water tower in Magnolia (north part of the bay). I've got pics of them flying by my house where I'm looking into the cockpit. Pretty amazing. No shock waves or vapor though. Would you like to buy a vowel?

Even though I've only shot the event a handful of times I've been going every year since I was younger so it helped me knowing most of their routine and routes ![]() On Saturday I believe I arrived there around 11:30am-noon and parked in one of the lots in Presidio. There's a few lots closer to Marina Green but they were already full. On Sunday, I arrived around 10:30am-11am and found parking on the street, about 5-6 blocks away from Marina Green. Generally I like to try to find parking on the streets past Lombard opposed to the closer lots as to avoid the heavy traffic after the event. In either case, I would get there no later than noon - the earlier the better. I would pack a lunch and if you're up to it, a foldaway chair, while you wait for the show to start. Thank you for the reply and all the information you provided! "It doesn't matter what camera you have if your photography has nothing worthwhile to say"

I am moving a shortcut of this page into my events folder so when next Fleet Week rolls around and I click on my Fleet Week folder, I can refresh with all the great info you provided and try to find nice location near where you shot these images. Thanks again. No problem! I usually attend every year so when next year's event rolls around feel free to PM me if you need more info on locations and whatnot
This Blue Angel flew right over head and I barely got it completely in frame with the 400mm f/5.6L ![]()
