Wanted to move back more, but was going to end up in traffic and get run down. I know this isn't the greatest photo, but I do like it and would like to know what you would do to fix it. - really wish i had a wider lens.

Some berries on a bush that I saw at church today. I'm thinking that I should have increased the DOF to get more berries in focus, but am not 100% on that.

A lighting shop in Seoul - these are dead bulbs on a stand outside the shop advertising what's inside. I really liked that the one red floodlight is mixed in with all the other white bulbs - almost feels like it's been selectively colored, but it hasn't.

I'm looking for harsh criticism of my photos - tell me how to improve, I will be grateful.

All three nice captures.
#1 the missing front of the lefthand truck is a minus. But... you are still alive! Stepping back is always dangerous - especially without looking where you step... :) :) You might have stepped a little to the right - still in the saf zone- and changed your angle.

#2 Yes DOF could be slightly better. Try to get at least one bunch of berries in focus. and let the rest blend into the background.

#3 interesting shot that - even with the dominant red bulb - lacks in composition. There is too much to see. But that is prsonal taste.

vk2gwk,

thanks for the feedback.

Re: #3 - how would you recompose? any further suggestions?

I think it'll be pretty hard to find a harmonious composition in such a hotch potch of objects.... The rack is interesting enough - may be a different angle of different section of the rack. Try to find some leading lines or another perspective....

I think #1 would look better if you stepped to the right as well to capture all 3 of the firetrucks lined up. You're right about the DoF on #2 in that more berries in focus would be nicer. #3 I'm not sure. I wonder if it would be improved with a closer shot ie: bringing out 1 bulb that you like - let's say the red one against the other ones. Maybe if there was more directional light coming from the side of the bulbs, it would make it more interesting.

Overall, I think #2 is the best and #1 if you moved to the side. #3 although is in focus, lacks the composition for me.

You missed the story in #1. You should be showing me the what the fireman is doing as related to the firetrucks. The trucks alone are not all that interesting.

Is anything in focus in #2? It also looks flat to me.

Again you missed the story in #3.
