the guy who asked for architectural shots only said thank you
anyhow, Julian I noticed the thread regarding asking about filter brands, it got me thinking... I think I already read your opinion regarding this. but can't seem to remember the reason why get
Lee filter holder over the Cokin again?
one of the things that excites me about the 16-35mm is I'll be able to use filters again, specially GND, the Big stopper and IR. I already have the ND1.2 too

I have never never never really thought about getting a polarizer. I have never used it and I dunno really if I would be able to appreciate it. thoughts?
Polarizers will help reduce glare and help increase contrast in your landscapes. Let's say you want to shoot a waterfall and want to use a rock with moss as your foreground. You take the shot and when you view it on your monitor, it looks too wet. Now, you go back to the same waterfall and you use a CPL. You see that on your monitor that the CPL reduced the glare and increased contrast in your image. This is how a CPL works. For the most part this will help in your landscapes. Especially, being near the beaches all the time. One thing you can't replicate in post is what a CPL can do.
Here's a sample of not using a CPL in this shot. It turned out great but, I should've use a CPL here to reduce the glare in the foreground
Here's one where I used the CPL. You can clearly see the glare/reflection is reduced in the foreground. CPLs are a main stay for a landscape photog. I'm surprised you don't have one.
