Tips and tricks

Can anyone out there give me a few tips on the cannon 10d. I will be getting my 10d next week and was wondering if anyone had a few tips to get me up and running quick.

a) Look through viewfinder and press the knob on front side!

This methode makes excellent pictures!

b) don't forget to remove lens cap!

Then pictures are a lot better!

c) marry girl next door.

Then you have no more time to ask for tips.

It'll be hard to top Hurry's "sage" advice but I'll try....

1.) Shoot Everything in RAW mode when you can. It is far easier to make a picture smaller than it is to make it bigger. Plus you have much more to work with in Photoshop.

2.) I've noticed that my 10D meter leans a bit toward over exposure. Before you shoot anything you want to keep, try to get a feel for how the camera responds to lighting situations. You'll be glad you did.

3.) Take some time to familiarize yourself with the controls before you go out and try to shoot. You don't want the camera/human interface to be the stumbling block to a great picture.

4.) Experiment and have fun. Try new things. Sometimes accidents can lead to the best pictures.

I usually use a bounce unit that i bought i which you need to set the camera to overexpose a bit. so this may work out perfect. thanks.

The great thing about going digital is you can shoot hundres of shots without any cost so tip 1) shoot away and review! 2) delete as you go 3) don't take loads of the same thing without changing something.

The 10D has loads of functions so, try them all out. Another wonderful thing is that the Exif data tells you what you did and the picture helps you remember where you were!
