Hiya

Would love some C&C on a couple of images from my recent fashion shoot.

Thank you :)

The lighting and comps are excellent. I prefer the b/w image. I think the arms in #2 could be balanced a little better.

Number 1 looks great. I agree that #2 could use a better pose. The lighting is great, the model may need to flip more magazines to find more interesting ways to manipulate her body.

There was some variety in the poses that she gave me but I have just chosen to show the 2 that I have retouched. Unfortunately due to the nature of the shoot (it was acutally a product shoot for selling purposes) I didnt give her a great deal of leeway for creativity. Would love to shoot fashion more creatively though.

The color image seems a little bit soft, I think some sharpening could fix that. Watch the highlights on her arms, they are a little bit blown out. It looks like you used the recovery slider a little too much, because some of the highlights on her face are an unnatural gray.

I agree with everyone else, the B/W version is definitely the strongest, and I think that has a lot to do with the lighting. It looks to me like you had two softboxes at around 45 degrees from the camera, on both sides of you. She turned sideways for the first one, so her face is well lit, and there's a nice rim light coming from behind, which gives her some definition.

You have to be careful around the eyes when you light an image like you did the second one, the shadows fall right in the inner corner of each eye, and it's not terribly flattering. If you applied the same lighting to the second one as you did in the first, it would help a lot, and this would mean moving the lights between shots.
