I'm not a G&N photographer, but the lighting on this one seems a little harsh. The skin on the lighted side is very close to blown out. The shadowed side has no detail.

The lighting is a bit harsh but sometimes that is intentional. There are a couple of small OOF orbs above the well lit side of the subject that I might remove as they are a bit of a distraction since they are eye level and the eyes are typically the first and longest lasting observation. I like the OOF (out of focus) elements in the field and backdrop.

I would have loved to see him standing more to the side where the light is coming from, I also dont get why he is looking at the camera with his head tilted, that seems very girly to me.

I'm feeling pretty good right now, just ate some lunch, and later I might... oh wait you meant about the picture

I like the quality of light and depth of field in this image, and it looks like you got yourself a good model.

The lit side is not close to blown out, it is blown out, very much so, I heard a commercial shooter refer to that as "digital skin," because blown highlights look much different from film. There are a few details left, but it would be nice to have more. If you shot this in raw, you could probably bring back some of those obliterated highlights.

I realize the light is most likely intentionally harsh, but this is a little too much. It would be great if you put a reflector or a little fill flash on the right side, so you see some detail over there.

Also I'm not sure I'm fond of the hands being cut off, do you have any vertical oriented versions of this?

Thanks for a comment and advices. I shoot him quite much. He is my friend, we shoot together in abandoned places and things. The light is yes little harsh but I got used to it when editing this photo to it's finest piece. And I don't have vertical version of this :/

Agree that the model is quite pretty and I assume of legal age. However, the face could have done with some fill in light to minimise the harsh shadow. Also, baby oil and water may have helped the torso.
