Is the Flashpoint Batt Grip for 7D worth buying?

Flashpoint Professional Battery Grip for the Canon 7D Digital Camera is $100 less. What do you guys think?


5D Mark III, 5D mark II, EF 50mm f/1.2L USM, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM, Tokina 11-16mm F2.8, EF 24mm-105mm f/4.0L IS USM

Don't know about the 7D, but the one on my 40D works great. I've had it for about a year and a half with no problems.


40d w/ grip, 75-300 f4-5.6, 85mm f1.8, 50mm f1.8, 18-55 is, Bowers SFD728c, 160ws Flashpoint strobe

i just bought that one for mine a few months ago. It works great for me. definitely worth the money. i havnt used the canon grip so i dont know how they compare, some say it feels cheaper. But for what it is, it gets the job done:)

Hey I got this grip with my 7D and can't get it near tight enough to make a connection the spring in the battery compartment I'm assuming is pushing it back out. Did you have this problem?

I'd get the Canon battery grips for the 5dm2 and the 7d purely for the magnesium chassis, which matches the bodies and makes the grips stiffer.

I've been using the Flashpoint grip (made by Meike) for quite some time with no issues at all.

My Flashpoint grip for the 50D works great. I use it for shooting my kids soccer. I do not want to run out of juice int eh middle of a tournament :)

Always Canon for grips.

It's the times when you don't think you'd need it that they matter....i.e. weather sealing..
