This spider took up residence in our back yard last month. So I shot it. This is a picture of the underside of the spider. The spinaret is interesting, as are its fangs.

Comments and critiques welcome.

Oh, and the spider was probably two inches (5cm) across.

Vertical here would have put this image over the top, the lighting is intense and adds dimension to the image that otherwise would be just a spider instead of a spooky scary spider.

I'll give that a try when I get home. The spider was holding onto her web this way when I took her picture.

Great shot. Like the "almost-b&w" colors of the shot as well as its sharpness.

Very nice n Sharp John. :D This is what I like about this forum, I get to see these Spiders and other small creatures clearly without having to be right there with them. Facinating view. ;)

Okay, here's my cuddly arachnid, this time rotated. Since the spider wasn't holding onto her web at exactly 90 degrees, I had to play around with the picture a little bit. I was going to clone the dark areas, but that was more time than I wanted to spend (especially with remaking part of a leg and lots of web). So, some layers came into play... :)

C&C welcome.
