Turkey Vulture sometimes called Buzzard or Turkey Buzzard locally.

He received word that a neighborhood squirrel got pancaked on the street. I overheard a bystander say that the vulture was rushing to see if he can help the squirrel or was it rushing to help himself to the squirrel? I am not quite sure which.

Ha :) perfect lead in Bill, I am guessing he is leaning to the "latter" in regard to the squirrel... nice IQ in the shot... most of the Turkey Vultures have migrated through here at the end of September.

Bill, Nice shots and narrative. a Bird that always captures my eye when seeing them flying overhead. often there shadows cast down in front if you as they fly over thinking what was that that just flew by.
Nice shooting!

Yeah, I don't see a red cross or anything, so it is probably a food run. ;) Good exposure!!
