This was a fun family to shoot...the little man just turned 2 and the world was way to big to stop and look at the camera. These were shot using a 70-200 f/2.8 IS and two cross flashes using the mini pocket wizards.

I like #2 best, too...though I wonder whether a crop to remove the foreground object might be a small improvement.

Nice location, too.

And here is the original straight out of the camera with no adjustments. All edits in Aperture 3 - total time on photo was 30 seconds.

I like the crop and the color processing was awesome - wouldn't have guessed at all from the first images.

I think the focus fell on the ground in front of the family in the first shot.

Ya I think somewhat to....it was the first time with the 70-200 f/2.8 IS and I did not have time to do an lens adjustment for the 5D II. The original does look good.

How did you change the colors so drastically, to make it look so natural?

It was extremely simple....page 174 gives the details: https://photography-on-the.net …ead.php?t=684360&page=174

Heck yea. you nailed the fall colors here. And with the crop on #2 .. it just adds more value to the photo. I can usually spot a shop when I see it. But, I admit the 'SOOC --> final' threw me. Not what I expected.

Really is a nice shot.
