I had an interesting thing happen today...I sent a link out to about 20 coworkers and classmates to share photos of the wildfire that burned very close to my house this weekend. (http://www.adampenderphotography.com/Whats-New (external link))

In the span of 12 hours, I've had approximately 1500 visitors to my website, from people forwarding the emails on. This is probably a slow day for most people, but for me that's about 20% of my 2010 total! I'm considering it a "Viral" hit, even if only in my mind...

Anyway, this fire (the "Wadsworth Ridge Fire") burned approximately 400 acres in suburban Denver, beginning Friday night. Fortunately, while it got within a mile of my house, the winds were not blowing it any closer, and no property was damaged in my neighborhood.

Is there any sparking in the wires, or is that the fire or sparks in the background?

I think that was all sparks in the background...the fire burned up and over a ridge a few hundred feet tall. To my knowledge, the utility poles were unaffected.

Good shots. Seems that everyone likes a fire, or fire photos.

Great shot... and terrifying, I'm sure, for the fire to be that close.

Congratulations on going viral!

- I discovered I scream the same way whether I'm about to be devoured by a great white shark or if a piece of seaweed touches my foot.
