Took a short weekend trip with my wife to see the fall colors.
1. Charlevoix Lighthouse
2. At the top of Sleeping Bear Dunes looking out over Lake Michigan
3. An attempt to show how steep and difficult it is to climb the dunes. Those specs in the middle of the frame are people trying to climb up and down the dune
4. Betsie Point Lighthouse
5. Torch Lake and no I didn't oversaturate the water. Google images of this lake and you will see that this is the natural color of the lake. It is truly amazing and according to the what the locals say, National Geographic rated this the third most beautiful lake in the world.
6. I was shocked to learn that they still had grapes on the vine. According to one of the workers at this vineyard, these grapes won't be harvested for two more week. The lake moderates the temperature all along the shore and creates a micro climate that is great for cherries, blueberries, apples and grapes. We stopped at one of the hundreds of local farm stands and bought a bushel of apples for $10.00!!
7. An overlook north of Manistee looking west over the Lake Michigan
8. And finally just a random home overlooking Grand Traverse Bay. I just liked the fall colors set against the color of the house
