This bird has been around the yard for 2 days, is it a House Finch? Maybe a younger one that doesn't have it's full colors yet? Anyone?

Steve, it's a male Cassin's Finch. Indeed nice captures.

Thanks Brad, I thought about Cassin's, but the crown didn't look right. Anyway, thanks for the I.D. I'm happy to have this bird in the yard.:D

Pretty bird Steve and you've captured him nicely, and chalk up another correct ID for Brad. Nice job.

Chuck

I was looking out the window and there were quite a few birds on the ground, this was one of them. I took a couple of shots for the I.D. Thanks Chuck.

Is this another migratory visitor Steve? I have never seen a Cassin's Finch, I don't get the House Finch either, but a lot of Purple Finches... nice find and capture.

I think it must be, because I only see these in the spring and fall months db. He was out there again this morning. I might get him on the perch. Thanks my friend.:D

Thanks don, I would like to get a shot on a perch instead of the ground. He's now discovered the feeder. He has his girlfriend with him. No time to get any shots at the moment. Work calls..
