One of my colleagues at work is currently going through years and years of 35mm negatives to scan. He wants to purchase a folder that allows him to view the negatives.

From what I can gather there 35mm negatives in 4's? Does this make sense? Also somewhere to purchase these from the UK is preferable but not essential.

Are you talking about transparent pages to file the negatives into? You can get transparent filing pages like Print-Vu. They come in sizes to fit 6-frame strips and 5-frame strips. Of course, you can put shorter frame strips into them.
