I just received an email for a new Bing program, Bing Rewards.

It's basically point based system.

You can use firefox and that plugin will slow your browser down considerably. It's another rewards program that allows you to earn fractions of a cent per search so it's essentially useless. I don't see where you earn any % based of purchase prices so it will take a long time to accumulate enough points to redeem for a gift card or some useless trinket.

Yeah, basically.

I was excited and thought it would be the new CashBack so I signed up immediately and got 250 free points. Turns out that it takes about 8,000 points to get a Starbucks mug. The party's over before it started.

Nothing to see here, move along.

Replacing my Canon 7D, Tokina 12-24mm, Canon 17-55mm, Sigma 30mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4, and 150-500mm with a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000. I still have the 17-55 and the 30 available for sale.

Yup that's when I gave up too. No idea how quickly/slowly you accumulate "credits" and the fact that it cost 541 credits to get a $5 Amazon gift card...

Thanks for the heads up but I'll pass. My Discover card has better rewards/cashback.
(Please prove me wrong Mr. Bing Rewards with your 35% on eBay!)

Got the email too. Wish they would have mentioned the requirements in the email so I wouldn't have had to click the link.

Basically they want people to install their search bar and participate in "point earning opportunities" that will likely make Bing look a lot better and more utilized on paper than they really are.
