Hey ya'll Firstly I'm a troll most of the time. I've only made a couple posts so thanks for all the awesome content that goes through this forum :D.

I bought a CPL and it's great for removing reflections on cars windshields and body pannels, but usually you can only remove one side at a time and have to combine multiple shots to remove them all. Would stacking CPLS work to remove all of the reflections in one shot? I know it would have adverse effects on shutter speed and possible vignetting, but has anyone tried this? Thanks.

Never tried it for reflections, but I have tried it for other reasons. Firstly, i've always heard that (and logically so) combining 2 CPLs at the settings can make a dead black filter. This is good because apparently you can create the ultimate adjustable strength ND filter by doing this. Having tried it I have found two things; 1) combining two CPL's creates awful colour casts. 2) That it does not work, atleast with the CPL's that I use.

As for the multiple reflection thing...well CPL's don't remove reflection, but merely replace it in the image. I imagine that combining two wouldn't pronounce this as the reflection still needs somewhere to go, as in you can't kill a reflection but merely move it. I'd be interested to hear from some people who have tried this, though.

No.

It will have adverse effects on sharpness & possible flare, too.

combining 2 CPLs at the settings can make a dead black filter.

Sort of a variable ND. I did that way back to get a slow shutter speed with B&W film, & it worked OK.

and have to combine multiple shots to remove them all.
