Hey guys. As you probably guess I'm looking for a bag. I'd prefer to have a messenger type bag as I'm not a huge fan of backpacks, they always sit awkwardly on my shoulders and it always feels like the weight is uneven.

As of now I have a Canon XSi, kit lens, nifty-fifty, 70-200mm f/4L and a couple other accessories and gadgets including a Kodak Zi8 and all related cables. In the futures I'm hoping to get a Speedlight another shorter prime and a better walk around lens.

I was looking at the Domke F-2 but I think it might be a little overkill for what I have now and what I plan on expanding to in the future but I really like how its laid out where each lens has its own compartment.

I also like the look of the Think Tank Retrospective series, specifically the 20 but I don't like how everything not attached to the camera just gets stacked on top of everything else.

So I turn to you for help. What do the esteemed members of PotN recommend I do here? Any bag I've overlooked?

One vote for the Domke F-3X. It may not be big enough for you though. Are you looking for a bag to just hold everything or do you actually want to carry the bag a lot? F-3X is a good compromise and nice to carry. I'm a big Domke fan, something in their lineup should be able to work for you.

I can't speak for the think tanks but as far as "everything getting stacked on everything else", with my Crumpler there are dividers that go between them. The dividers have velco on just one side so they can hinge out of the way. Have you looked at Crumpler yet? A 7mdh should fit the bill.

I wanna carry the bag a lot but I also want it to be able to hold most of my gear if I go on a trip or something. I've looked at Crumpler but the million dollar homes just don't appeal to me, their European selection however is awesome, I don't know why they don't have the same bags world wide because I'd be all over a Muffin Top.

I don't know what kind of budget you're working with but what I normally do when traveling is bring two bags. I have a Lowepro fastpack that carries all of the gear I tend to want when on a trip (body, 4 lenses, flash, filters, etc. . ) while fitting in the airline carry-on spaces and I bring a second bag that I take out with me and bring just the gear for that day. This might be a better solution as it keeps you from trying to find a one bag does it all solution and allows you to focus on what you need for the two different purposes.

Lowepro Nova and Stealth Reporter series. They come in multiple sizes, and each is bulletproof, very well made and thought out. Each has a built in waterproof cover.

I've narrowed it down to the Think Tank Retrospective 20 and the Lowepro Stealth Reporter D200AW.

Probably gonna go with the Lowepro just because I like the full body rain cover and the extra pockets up front.
