Hi there. I am a ND/GND newbie and just purchased a kit of Hitech filters/ holder. I am now planning to add a 4X4 ND to the system. After some research, I am thinking to buy either:

1. Hitech 0.6 4X4 ND
2. Hitech 0.9 4X4 ND

I currently have 77mm B+W MRC CPL, 77mm B+W 1.8 ND, Hitech 4x5 0.6 GND and 0.9 GND

So, I am leaning towards the 0.9 (3 stop). But which one will you recommend and why?

I am also toying the idea of adding a Hitech hard edge GND... either 0.6 or 0.9... again, which one do you find more useful?

Thanks guys for your help.

I would say 0.9, from my experience, there are times when you can't stop it enough with the 0.6... and since the goal of using ND is to be able to shoot long exposure, the darker the better :D (IMHO)

I personally have the Hi-tech 4x4 ND1.2 (4stop).

Thanks for fast response. How's the ND 1.2 4x4? I read a review online and it said the filter had some heavy color cast... Is it ture?

Got the 0.9 ND today. Super nice. I am all set for now.. Maybe I will add the 0.9 hard edge GND later. I will see if I can live without it... Thanks for the help/
