Ive had my eye on this spot for a photograph for a couple years and I finally happened to catch it in some good light. Id love to hit it at sunrise or sunset but it is only this color in the fall and when Im in this spot at sunset or sunrise in the fall, Im usually hunting and not doing photography.

Hope you like it. As always, C&C welcome.

Nice shot. Out west they are trying to eradicate these trees. Are they not considered a problem in MN?

Im not exactly up-to-date on the forest management plans for the area, but I am a hunter so Im in tune with some recent info about these forests. I havent heard of any plans to do anything similar with the Tamaracks here in MN, but I can tell you that they are very abundant in swampy, wet areas.

Thanks everyone!

That's the problem out west. These trees proliferate and suck up all the water that should go elsewhere. They have released some kind of bug that kills them. You can see huge areas of these things turning brown. God help us if the bug doesn't stop with these.

We probably arent as dry here as it is out west so maybe thats why they arent considered a problem in this area. Interesting info though, thanks!
