I have no idea how related this topic is to go here but I was looking into getting this lens and I was looking into past deals where people scored this lens brand new under $400. I'm aware of this code at the moment.

I got my Sigma 30mm from them today. The new finish. Trying to test the focus but I have no tripod ;(

I won't pick up the phone then! Speaking of which did you get the Sigma warranty ? I'm just sorta worried because I had to send my Sigmalux to Sigma. >>

pretty sure they are a sigma authorized dealer, bought my 30mm from there also.

Why do you need a tripod?

Take 200 shots with it wide open, using ctr pt AF + one shot, and review on the monitor. That's the best way to tell. Just go out and shoot a ton and you'll know if it's missing focus after a while.

I am missing a ton of focus. But' it's ****ty indoor light so I will do real world testing tomorrow. I mean, mis focus.. not catching focus wide or even good closed.

I seem to be the only one that thinks the old version looks better (based on images I have seen). I like how the old finish has some texture to it.
