i think technically the warranty is non-transferable, regardless of if it's registered or not

you might run into problems with the registered one with the address listed, and all that...but there is probably a way to change it online i would guess...

That lens still has the old finish on the focus ring. The New Sigma 85mm 1.4 and 70-200 2.8 OS have the new finish everywhere, so I suspect that eventually all Sigma lenses will go that way as well.

I think these are two examples of why Sigma is changing their finish on their lenes:

Just buy this lens! Every minute you don't have it, you're missing great shots..

My 30mm has the old sparkle on the ring only. That's the new finish I thought. My friend has one with the "sparkle" everywhere

i just brought a sigmalux off craigslist from original owner who only had it for 6 months. with copy of the receipt i still have 3.5 years of sigma warranty. woot. i like their new finish more, looks more clean.

I got my copy today but I don't know if it's bad focusing again...pictures up shortly on things I went around on f1.4.

The new finish does look very nice.

I marked the red dot as my focusing spots all shot at f1.4. I think I got a decent copy; wasn't as bad as my Sigmalux..EXIF is shown!

I'm going to shoot more photos..afk! lol

on this one I used a blue dot all at f1.4..I'm starting to get excited!! haha
