It is my tank :) Thanks for the comments,

As for getting it clear?, Turned off all the pumps and i shot using the stock lens 18-55m lens and the Sigma EF-500DG flash, Great combo for shooting my aquarium.

Great picture.
I have been playing with taking pictures of fish tanks. How did you use the flash. You bounced it from the ceiling?
Good work

Aww Giving away all the secrets :(

What i do,

Get in as close as possible, I take a few sample shots to adjust my flash rate usally shot around 1/16 at 1 hz, Then i use either a Softbox or a Difusser the Sigma flash has a flip down defuser works great, Other than that the only other thing i use that helps alot is a CPOL Len when shoot through the glass and water.

Hope this helps?

Michael thanks for your reply. What is a CPOL Len(s).
Are you bouncing the flash or shooting direct into the tank with the diffusser.
Thanks again!

I shoot with the flash straight onto the tank,

As for the cpol lens, Here is a discription.

"Kenko Circular Polarizer Filter

This polarizing filter is used to increase color saturation, darken blue skies so white clouds stand out, and reduce or eliminate reflections from nonmetallic surfaces like glass or water. It will also reduce the softness in scenery caused by atmospheric haze. This filter will not change the overall color balance of an image."

Thanks. Next time I get near a tank I will try using your method.
