Well beachbum I tried to re-create your shot and here it is as promised.

It was very misty in San Francisco the whole time I was there so I was having trouble with the exposure of the sky but this was my best effort. Overall im happy with the results but I can see now how amazing your shot actually is. You have managed to keep everything bright and detailed, like the monoblocks on the road. Those details are a bit lost in my effort.

Shot with a 5D and 24-105L.

Eddie

EDIT: - I have just realised your shot is angled down more than mine too, I wish I had spotted that previously and got more road in and less sky.

Eddie, this looks great! No worries about not angling lower similar to what I did. You can crop yours and get more of the scene as the center of the picture. If you crop a bit off the top and a bit off the left it should look great. Give it a try and see what you think.

Other than the crop, your shot looks great! Pretty cool place huh? So many different angles to shoot that street...

Thanks! Did you use a flash at the end of the exposure to light up the street/buildings etc? In your shot everything is so well illuminated.

Great shot! I love how the Coit Tower gives it a little life in the background as well.

Sorry for the delay, I should be back home in the next few days and will check. ISO 100 IS the only setting I can remember at the moment

Hi Beachbum. OK my settings were ISO 100, f 11, 15 secs. I have re-processed my version to bring a bit more light in. I have also included a second pic from a different angle which was also ISO 100, f 11, 15 secs

They both look great! I like how you included a lot of the bridge in the second one. Nice work!
