I don't know of any drop-in ND filters for the 200 f2L, and I don't know if other ND filter designs, like the Lee big stopper, will work with the 200. Has anyone found an ND filter solution for this lens? Thanks.

The diameter of the 200L is 5 inches and the Big Stopper is 4"x4". You could get a Singh-Ray X-Pro size 5 stop filter which is 5.1 inches x 6.8 inches, but you'd have to hand hold it in front of the lens carefully so that light wouldn't leak in if it were slightly off. Oct 15, 2010 11:55 | #4 Well, I have the 70-200 f2.8L, but the 200 f2l makes a great portrait lens at f2, but outdoor lighting often doesn't make it possible for me to shoot at f2 or anything close to that unless I just use natural light (which I've done). So would an ND gel filter accomplish the same thing? I hadn't thought to try that, and I even have some ND gel sheets at home. Guess I need to take a look at the gel filter holder that I've never removed from the 200 f2L. Cameras: 1DX, 1D4, 20D, 10D, S90, G2
