I wish I could have gotten closer. It's hard to get crystal pictures with the sun going down at 100 yards away. I'll know where to set up next time.

Great capture, though you could post it a tad smaller.

Nice picture, I like it. It's pretty tricky to get anything close to sharp when the sun is going down.

What lens did you use? Did you sharpen it much?

I used the Sigma 120-300 W/Canon 1.4TC. I sharpened a little, but I did not want to mess with it much. You are right, when the sun is down and you have the shuuter up high to stop motion it's tough. I think I did get this at 5.6 apeture.

I like that aspect. To my eye it conveys a feeling of the photographer being secluded.

Beautiful shot, although painful for my little 56K connection!

Very nice shot. I agree with Airedale about the size of the image but for those using Mozilla Firefox just Right-Click on the image and select "View Picture" and you'll be able to se the whole image in a siezx reduced for your scene.

Yeah I know, I have to figure out how to post these pictures right. If you guys could have the abilty to see what kind of property I have access to for whitetails, you would fall over. You know when you look in a fields and see 20 does, and maybe one buck. Well on this piece of property I counted 25 bucks and six does, I have a picture of a buck with a larger rack then this guy, but it was so dark that it really came out crappy. Their is no doubt I will get him earlier next time. This place is just to unreal. I hunted for 25 years and only wish I would have had access to a place like this when I hunted. Now that I gave up hunting for photography, I hit the Whitetail lottery. Go figure. I will have to get a wide angle of all these bucks together. You will all be in shock. My old hunting buddies are drooling. The guy will not let hunters on anymore b/c they just didn't respect the place. Now Enviromental conservation has to come and shoot them to keep the population down. Well, I hate to tell them it isn't reducing anything.

Secluded I was. I had every bug imaginable crawling all over me. I figured thats the price you have to pay to get shots of bucks like this. I went out and bought a blind today. Hopefully this will help with the bugs.

Why can't I see this image? :(
I'm not having trouble with any others ...

Edit ... it was my security software (not sure why). Excellent shot ... beautiful buck!
