It's been awhile again...can't seem to get myself back in the POTN groove. Last weekend I found myself in Atlantic City at the House of Blues venue inside The Showboat casino for a little bit of hard rockin'. Skillet was a band that had never even shown up on my radar again but I would check them out and take a few photos while I was there.

I'm glad that I did. Solid show, great stage presence and interesting lighting. 2nd guitarist Korey Cooper was a tazmanian devil running around the stage with rock star moves. I could have done a series of her alone I got so many nice shots.

Anyway, as usual, critique and feedback are appreciated.

#1 is nice, #2 looks OoF.
Rest are some nice moments, but all look a bit "the same" (All long lens from a distance)

Thanks, Rene. I like the moment in # 1 as well. #2 does have the look of OoF but when blown up it disappears. It's one of those cases that shrinking the size makes it look less than it is. There is some motion blur on the laminates hanging from his waist though. ;)

One of the things I find hard these days is picking out 8 shots that convey the overal fell of a show. Sometimes it's short glass, sometimes long. I had plenty of short lens photos and some of them are quite nice, they just didn't make the cut at the moment I picked the photos for this post. Of course, if I made those picks right now, I'm sure some would be switched out.

That band's management cleared me to shoot only if I allowed them to view my photographs before publishing them onto my site. I "missed" their set.

As I would have done with the same requirement. I'm glad that I didn't have to make that choice.

Skillet's mgmt tried to pull the ol' copyrights grab on me. I declined to give them copyright or allow them to approve the shots before publishing.

I still shot the band, and under my terms.

I would not have covered them otherwise, hence no publicity for the band.

I love these guys. Have never gotten the chance to see them, someday I will hopefully. I'm sure it was a good night of hard rockin', considering what their latest CD is like.
Nice clear shots, glad to see some of this group.
