Here is a picture I took of the Four Rivers Fountain on a recent trip to Rome, everyone I show it to says it is a great photo, I think it is nice but very critical of all my photos, what do you think. It was taken with a 10-22 on 40D.

I think it is a really nice photo as usually people blow a highlight when doing night exposures and you have things well exposed.

Good job.

looks good. two thoughts:

- could you have pulled back a bit to capture all the water?
- how would it look if you cloned out the light fixtures in the fountain water?

I like it - i'm wondering if there was a way to get separation between the background and the fountain... they kind of blend together because of the color... but if memory serves me correctly there isn't much that can be done about it.

I'm not sure why one would want to clone out the light fixtures in the water... they don't seem distracting to me, but I suppose one could try anyway.

Nice job.

I agree, the background is a bit distracting but it's tough to shoot wide open and get that separation from DOF during a night shot. I think it's great shot with excellent exposure!

Were there any other angles to isolate the fountain as opposed to the background?
