Irfanview and RAW Format from Canon G6 - incompatibility?

Hello,
I am using a Canon G3 Powershot and a new Canon Powershot G6. Both cameras support the RAW File Format.

I am using the picture programm IrfanView since a few years with the newest Canon Plugins from Irfanview
and the newest programm version. But the programm IrfanView cannot read the RAW files from the new G6.
My old RAW files from the G3 are read without any problems.

The readme file from the plugin contains a small list of supported camera types. The G3 is listet, the G5 too but
the new G6 isnt listet in the readme.txt file. That could mean that the G6 isnt supportet yet but I am not shure.
Why does Canon change the RAW file format from the G5 to the G6 so that IrfanView isnt able to read the file anymore?
Canon's support via E-Mail and telephone could not help me.

Does anyone have the same problems ? I want to use IrfanView because it is very small and has a simple interface for me.

Hi there, i tried it too, but now i use Raw Shooter, and the great thing is, its free to use. In the mag that i buy every month has recently done a survey on Raw software and Raw Shooter got a good 86%....check out the link....??
