I enjoyed anther "garden safari" last weekend, and have been getting a bit behind on processing. Here are some of the best I took last Saturday, all taken on 40D with MP-E65mm and diffused flash.
1. Nursery web spider
2. A small psocid
3. Some sort of aphid, I guess
4. A new springtail for me: Orchesella cincta
5. A lucky congregation at 5X; three creatures all in focus (just about). There are two springtails and a mite. I'm pretty sure the purple one is Lepidocyrtus cyaneus, but is the white one a colour variant (I saw several of each colour), or could it be Lepidocyrtus curvicollis?
6. A fruit fly, obviously aware of his hitchhiker.
