Hey guys, I think my camera might have been returned before I bought it. Does the camera start counting the files at 100? Because my first picture is "IMG_0117", And the AF lock button does not function.

Did you format the CF card when you put it in the camera?

That is because the store tested the camera with an un-formatted card. The camera picked up the count from the card. Mine started at 3,000 something.

I got stuff for taking pictures. :o When things are unclear - It's time to refocus.

Well don't know about that! Mine started at 0001!! I think it all depends on where you bought the camera, on what terms and price. But what the hack, if all is ok and the camera doesn't show any other signs of earlier use... I would suggest to enjoy the camera and don't worry too much

cheers

I've bought 5 new Canon DSLRs, all in factory sealed boxes. Not one of them started at 0001. I can only guess that it has something to do with number of test actuations at the factory, perhaps during various calibration processes.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Ah, ok I get it now.

I was just worried becuase I got it at Circuit City and it was the last one there. They said it wasn't the floor model, but one of the buttons doesn't work. (the one used to lock the AF point) I just thought it was kind of odd that the images started off at 0117 and that something wasn't working on it, like maby a sign that it had been used before. (when I brought it home the first day the battery was missing from the box, which only made me believe this more) So I'm taking it back today to see what they say, but I'll probbly just have to send it back to Canon for repairs
