Correct me if I'm wrong, but w/out the CHDK download the longest exposure you can get with a G12 is 15 seconds, right? If that's the case you won't get much of a result for star trails.

oh but with CHDK you can go up to 34min :) ive done a 10min one just out the backdoor for a play to see how it will come up, it was a bit overcast that night so cant really see them to well. been waiting for a clear night eversince.

Rule of thumb, however, is to make sure the horizon is level (or crop it out).

just north of Crescent Bay Beach.. which is just north of Laguna, CA. On the north side of crescent bay, there a small park up above the beach.

thank you! I shot off of a tripod @ f8 for 15 seconds at iso 80. I didn't have a shutter release so I just used the self timer and experimented a lot! It was taken in downtown Willemstad, Curacao N.A.
