Hey,
I have 2 Aurora Fusion flashes (300Ws and 600Ws, 230V), and I use them in my "home studio", I want to use them on location.
It seems that the Tronix Explorer could fire my flashes, but it looks "a little" heavy.
I've read many posts dealing about the DIY Vagabond system (pure sine inverter + 12V battery), but I've never seen this system with my flashes (only with AB, Elinchrom...)
Does anyone of you use such system with Aurora Fusion flashes ?
What are the characteristics of your inverter and battery ?
Or, in your opinion, are there reasons for my flashes not to be fired with a "DIY Vagabond" like system ?
Thank's a lot for your experience.
Fred.
PS : Excuse me for my poor english, I hope you'll underdstand me !!!

are the fusions digital? i think the digitals might have an issue with the vagabonds because the inverter sort of cuts itself from providing power. the alienbees and einsteins were made for it though so no issue but other digital blocks might have problems.

Thank's for your answer.
As I saw in Aurora LiteBank site, my Fusion flashes aren't digital flashes (they aren't the Fusion Plus Series, but the Fusion Series).

I think they are great for the most of the stuff I do.
Fusion looks far more advanced.

Hi, Green Li,
That's a fact, I did'nt see many people using these flashes (even here in France), perhaps because few stores sale them.
The photo you sent is Fusion Plus flash (digital one), mine are none digital (Fusion "only").
I have no experience in studio photo, I'm real beginner : these flashes are the first one I bought, then I can't compare with others.
The main reason I bought these flashes is the possibility to use them with low power (5Ws), because my "home studio" is really small (it's my dining room !).
The only thing I can say is I have no problem with them : I like the power range (5 to 300Ws or 5 to 600Ws), the color of light (from low to high power, they keep the same color temperature), I use too an Elinchrom Skyport for synchronisation without problem.
The disadvantage is their weight... more than 3 kg !
