Question about polarizing filter for 300D

I'm looking to get a polarizing filter for my 300D but I'm a bit confused. The 58mm circular polarizing filter seems to be the way to go for the 300D but it says it has to be used with auto-focus, I prefer to focus manually so will this cause a problem?

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I searched a bit and was still left confused, new to this and all.

***Posted in other section of boards but not sure if it was the right place to ask.

--Canon 300D with battery grip
--Canon 18-55mm Kit Lens
--Tamron SP AF 200-500mm F/5-6.3 Di Ld (IF)
