Manual Focus in the mode dial with lens on AF?

question...

on my tamron 18-270vc....

I wanna use full manual mode on the camera but keep the lens in AF mode. Is it ok?

My idea is.... I'll be the captain of the camera in setting up correct exposure base on the result i need... And I want the lens to do the focusing job.

would this hurt either my lens or camera. i wanna do this in a well lit situation so it makes easy. This lens don't have problem focusing in light is not a problem.

No problem at all. Manual mode on the camera doesn't have anything to do with focus.

Manual Mode (M on the camera dial) is a method of determining exposure. It allows independent control of both shutter speed and aperture. Manual Focus (MF on the lens switch) allows manual control of the focus of the lens. The two operate independently of each other...
