Nice & simple shots. Good job.

Like number 3 the first two have nice lighting and a pleasing expression but seem to be lacking in the composition area very static. Number 3 you have all the elements of a good photograph lighting, depth, a nice composition and a good pose (might pull the hands out just leave the thumbs in but that is personal preference). I would also try and get him to give you some different poses. It appears in all of these he is standing there with his hands in his pockets in front of three different scenes. Arms crossed or sitting down. I am sure you have other things but based on what you have shown us this is what I see.
