Its a very sad day. I found out last night that he passed away from a stroke.
Here is the only picture i have of him. Freddy is like an unofficial mascot for the new york yankees. As long as ive been going to the stadium he would always be there. How did we know? His pot. You can see a bit of it right below the sign. He has been going to yankee games for free for decades. Reason is he doesnt occupy a seat, which is the reason why they always let him in. He walks around and gets people to bang on his pot. You can hear the echo all through out the stadium. Its awesome. This picture was taken for the 4th home game at the new stadium. Freddy was rejected from going in for free becuase the yankees said he needed to pay. It was horrible. However, later someone came along and gave freddy a ticket. Later on in the season i went back and you could hear freddys pot somewhere in the stadium spreading his love. Enough people made a big deal about it that the Yankees changed thier stance with him. Between shepard, steinbrenner, and freddy it seems as we have lost a chunk of the yankee lore.
