I am trying to post this at a size that people can see. It was shot in open ocean off of the coast of Hawaii, in about 5000 ft of water

NO I was in the water snorkling with her for about 2.5 hr. she was very interested in us but showed little signs of aggression

It was shot with a 10d in a subal housing with two ikilite 125 strobes

How big was the shark? That takes a big st of kahunas to be swimming with that!!
If it was OOF I think it would be because your shaking and scarred sh##less!!

She was only about 5.5 ft long (which is small for them) but she was not shy. This picture her nose was about 3 inches from the dome port.

that is a fantastic shot! you're lucky...I believe they're normally rather over inquizitive and like to 'mouth' things to see what they are. if they're soft (like flesh) they take a bit!
I saw a lot of white tip reef sharks in the red sea a few years ago but they're night hunters and pretty small.
