4 shots. 5Dc, used 85mm f/1.8 and a 50mm f/1.4 on a couple. I'm working hard to consider things before I shoot, but likely underestimating the difficulty factor in getting meaningful shots.

Please make some trained-eye recommendation on how I can improve. Would really appreciate some insight to what is NOT going right. Thanks in advance.

1. Attempt at natural sun rim lighting. Was difficult to get enough light on face. PP'd to 'salvage' the shot.

2. Attempting -1 stop on BG. Color just not 'popping' for me. Bad composition as well probably...and this was one of the best from yesterday!

3. Same thing as 2, but BG was underexposed by around 3 stops it appears. Again, tried to salvage in post.

4. Similar setting to #1. Must have done something right here as it turned out pretty good ... something isn't right, but I don't know enough to correct during shooting.

Please suggest some things to help me improve? Thanks, I really appreciate your help and support.

Also, if you can rank them best to worst, I'd appreciate that, too. Just getting confused on what might be a keeper, anymore.

Maybe I should stick to guitar playing and singing.
