This was shot out in Open Ocean in Hawaii as well. It was shot using an Olympus 40/40 in a light and motion housing. The snorkeler is a coworker of mine.

Fantastic! Beautiful color and capture of a whale shark. I know whale sharks are harmless, but truth be told I have not stepped foot in the ocean since Jaws came out in 1975.:o

Fantastic! Beautiful color and capture of a whale shark. I know whale sharks are harmless, but truth be told I have not stepped foot in the ocean since Jaws came out in 1975.

Sad occassion just this last week off Adelaide. A student Marine Biologist was taken as he was getting back in the boat by what's believed to be a Great White. This is the second attack in 8 months.

A lot of the actual under water footage in Jaws was done in the waters of South Australia and in particular Pt Lincoln.

That's an amazing photo, but I would have needed a REALLY long lens (like about a half mile long!) to get that shot!

Simply magnificent! I love all sharks and whale sharks are extremely impressive. This shot is just awesome. I really want to take scuba lessons one of these years.
