What's New

  • No more constraints about the screen size to be able to display the new RGB histogram.

    1. If the screen is large, the new RGB histogram is displayed at the bottom of the tool palette.
    2. If the screen is small, the new RGB histogram is displayed instead of the small thumbnail (of course only if you have checked the "Show RGB" checkbox).
    3. If the screen is very small, the new RGB histogram is displayed instead of the RAW histogram (of course only if you have checked the "Show RGB" checkbox).

  • Load Camera Settings button restored.
  • 1 bug corrected : the recipe buttons and histogram were still visible when you hide the DPP's tool palette. Now they are also hidden when the tool palette is hidden.

Below the different locations where the new RGB histogram can be displayed.

I would suggest checkmark boxes (or on/off highlight) for Over-/Underexposure buttons, so as to let you know what status you are in at any moment.

Also, it would be useful if the recipe buttons had an on/off highlight as well. In the save group to show which memory locations have already been writtern to (and which are free to use), in the display group to show (consistently) which recipe is presently being displayed (including the base two).

Aged people lose track of what they are doing, young people get distracted by continuous phone calls. ;)

Moreover, to me, the consequence of calling an empty (unsaved to) recipe location, is confusing (free version). White balance and Picture Styles changes are better left to their original command location, IMO, and included in complete recipes.

Anyway, I think DPP++ to be a good improvement over the original.

Thank you for your suggestions.
Concerning the use of checkboxes for Underexposure/Overexposure alerts, that's exactly what I did at first. But I encountred a technical problem. There is no mean to know if the user has checked the alert from the DPP menu... So this may lead to an incoherence in the DPP++ checkbox. For instance, if you check the alert in DPP++ and then uncheck it in DPP, it will remain checked in DPP++ because it is not possible to know if the user has unchecked it in DPP (or at least I have not found yet a solution to this problem). That's why I have finally used 2 simple buttons.

Concerning the recipes buttons, it is a good point. I have added the modification for the load recipe buttons to see which recipe is presently active. However for the save recipe buttons, I don't think this is necessary because the saved recipes remain saved from one session to another. So you can say that the save buttons are empty at the beginning (or at least use the default recipe) but after you have used them one time, they will never be empty again.

Concerning the white balance and picture style, all I can say is that you will find something that will allow more than that in next versions (at least I hope so ;-)a )

Thanks again for your constructive suggestions. If you have other suggestions please let me know.

I see your point and it makes sense to me too... now.

My best wishes to DPP++.

Finally I found a solution to this technical problem. So in the last version (4.4) they are checkboxes.

Forget my original message, it does work. I just did not understand how to use it.
