I just bought the tamron 17-50vc also the canon 135L today to go with my 7d i was agonizing for days which lens to get but didn't want to go over 1700 for lens i was first going to get just the 35L, but i always wanted to get the 135L and needed something for a standard for everyday shooting also. I was debating to get the 24 to 105 also but wanted low light shooting also i think its a good decision what do you think off the combo anybody have these lens on the 7d and what do you think off them.

Very nice combo indeed! The 135 is a dream lens of mine.

Not to make you think twice but the Canon 17-55 2.8 IS + Canon 85 1.8 would have been a sweet combo under 1700

40D gripped - Tamron 17-50 f2.8 - Sigma 30 1.4 - Canon 430EX - AB800 - various other little things like shutter releases...

i couldnt hold off any longer had to have the 135L i was thinking off the canon 17-55 is usm but my brother said the tamron is just as good for half the price, just lose some auto focus speed is the only difference i think. he has the non vc and loves it, i seen the pics with his tamron and its sharp and has good optics. The website tamron lens reviews compared the vc tamron against the canon 17 55 is usm and said the tamron beats canon in every category but focus speed. Ill give it a try, i wanted to all canon but with the price its hard to pass up.

plus 85 1.8 is not in the same league as the 135L plus with the extender it's like having two lenses in one
