My daughter picked this little guy up on our way back from collecting the mail. What do you all think? Its been a bit since I posted so I am hoping I have improved. Please excuse the chapped nose for she has been quit snotty here lately.

I am really trying to focus on my White balance and making sure things are focused. I have a few friends that are wanting Holiday pictures from me (I am just a hobbyist) and I want to make sure they get some nice photos. Thank you in advance!

First off, her face is underexposed in all of them. In the first one, her face looks out of focus to me. It looks like it is front-focused because the lower part of her dress at the lower part of the screen looks to be the sharpest area of the picture. The other two are focused more one the hands, which might have been intentional.

Thanks drumnut. Should I have used the pop up flash on a lower setting for these? I did have the focal point on the caterpillar in the last 2, but I was hoping to have the aperture low enough that it would make her in focus as well as blur the background. It appears I need to work on that more. Thank you again for your feedback.

Some fill flash could help, but this lighting isn't that bad. You could probably bump the exposure up a little in PP to brighten her up. If the background got too bright, you could just mask it out.

I agree with Drum, and the focus misses her face...the DOf needs a little tweak;)

you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.

you can shoot at f8 for example and still have a nice bokeh keep in mind how faraway your background in, I would say all of these are underexpsoed and the focus is missed
