Hey guys!

So, I'm looking to expand my set up, and I want to add more lenses! (Who doesn't!?!)

But, I'm not too sure what I want to get at this point...

Current set up:

Canon Rebel XSi w/ stock 17-55mm IS
EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS
580EX II

Budget <1000

I currently don't specialize in a specfic type of photography, I'm still finding my place within the world, but most common so far I do portrait shots along with landscapes.

I don't really need/want another zoom lens (since I don't use mine that often as it is).

Any suggestions?
If you need me to answer some more questions, shoot away!

If you are not sure what you want, how can someone else help you?

Quite possibly because I don' have the breadth of knowledge as some people here have. I am looking on my own, but I am looking for some suggestions from people.

Which lens have you been using (obviously you've been using a zoom because that's all you have). What focal lengths seem to be the ones you use most? These questions may help you focus on what you like.

Maybe the best advice is to keep shooting with what you have - and with experience and experimenting you'll find out what it is that you can't do with the present lenses.

It's not easy, it takes time to discover the whole world of photography.

i suggest a fast prime
based on what focal length you like to use..

sigma 30 1.4
50 1.8 or 1.4
85 1.8

primes are fun x)

Canon 5DmkII BG-E6
85/1.4||100/2.8||24-70/2.8L||70-200mkII
580EX || YN-467 || ST-E2 ||RF-602
Packed nicely in a Lowepro Flipside 300

I'd suggest a fast prime for portraits, like the 85mm f/1.8. An ultrawide like the 10-22 would be great for landscapes.

That is sound advice from Glenn.

You've money burning a hole in your pocket which I can understand you want to spend but, if there isn't a lens which you yourself think will improve your photographic output, why not buy a decent flash and a tripod instead?

David :)
