White Lightning Ultra 600

Is this worth buying for $125? Power should be equal to Alien Bees 800? I wonder if it's better to get two of these instead of a Genesis 400. Or there is the Ultra1200 for $175, is that a good deal or should I just buy new?

They are great strobes. Just check that they are the latest version with banana plugs on the tube. But even the older version at that price is a good buy. If you don't want them tell me where I can buy them for myself

I'm looking myself to buy one or two Ultra 1800 and maybe a few additional 1200 or 600.

The only issue I have with these strobes is that they are heavy, and probably not the easiest to use for an overhead/arm mounting. I'll probably buy an AB800 for this purpose.

I think those are more than fair deals, but be aware that:

Sometimes WL units fail and cannot be repaired. So I would not buy one at any price that did not work perfectly at the time.

The comment about banana plugs is because, if the particular units are an older variation, where just stiff wires (rather than banana plugs) plug into the unit from the flashtube, sometimes the flashtube actually welds itself to the mounting, so that it can't be replaced easily. This can be upgraded.

It's at a local pawn shop but they won't let me test it out and of course no warranty. So I guess this isn't much of a deal as I have to take their word that they tried it out.

So they won't even plug it in at the shop and turn it on, and let you see that the modelling light functions and that it will fire when the Test button is pressed?! "Let me sell you a bridge!"
