Is this worth buying for $125? Power should be equal to Alien Bees 800? I wonder if it's better to get two of these instead of a Genesis 400. Or there is the Ultra1200 for $175, is that a good deal or should I just buy new?

Just check that they are the latest version with banana plugs on the tube. But even the older version at that price is a good buy. If you don't want them tell me where I can buy them for myself

So they won't even plug it in at the shop and turn it on, and let you see that the modelling light functions and that it will fire when the Test button is pressed?!
