At least that what I think they are. Correct me if I'm wrong.

My second outing with my 400 5.6L, been crappy weather here as of late, Still crappy really today, but I just had to go out... ISO 1600 on an XS unfortunately isn't the best. I've only had time for pp with one image, more later.

ISO 1600 - 400mm - f/5.6 - 1/1250

Still looks just a tad dark on my monitor, but it's a great shot especially considering the conditions.

I saw that image editing is alright with you. I lightened and NRed. Hope you like. Beautiful shot to begin with. I hope this makes it better.

Jack, What do you use for NR, I'm looking to get something, rightnow I am Free trialing LR, but If I go to far with NR I start to loose alot of detail in feathers. I'm guessing I'll need to get a plugin of some sort.

Here is the point where I begin to loose detail, you should notice on the neck of the male I have less feather detail, but still more noise then yours.

Thanks,

Topaz Labs Denoise 5. I used the free trial to test it. I tried others, this works the best for me.

Do you have the topaz bundle or just denoise5. I am onthe freetrial with that as well and haunt found myself using much other than denoise, just wondering how useful the other topaz stuff is.

Excellent shot. I definitely need to replace my Tokina with a 400 f5.6 :D
