I got a Rebel GII cheap, mainly to use the strap and for the caps (yes it was *that* cheap). But now I figure I want to give it a try just for the heck of it.

What kind of film would you use and where would you have it developed? We have most of the chains nearby, although Wal-Mart is a hassle here. Given choices I think I want to go for something with strong colors, like for sunsets and landscaping. Hey it's my first FF so there :)

My imagine composition sucks. I need a heavier lens.

Back in the film days, I used to love Fuji Velvia (though not sure they make it anymore). That was a film that was extremely popular with wildlife and landscape photographers because it was highly saturated. Fuji Provia was good as well, a little more realistic in color rendering. They both came in 36 shot rolls.

Purchase price and development costs are now insane.... brrr.... Good luck and have fun!
