Hi All,

I'm going to get my 1st wide-angle Prime (own 17-40) for landscape mostly.

Both lenses are wonderful and price almost the same.

If anyone used/using both lenses in this forums, I LOVE to hear from you, please :)

Canon 5D3 + Zoom (EF 17-40L, 24-105L & 28-300L, 100-400L II) & Prime (24L II, 85L II, 100L, 135L & 200 f/2.8L II; Zeiss 1,4/35)
Sony α7r + Zeiss 1,8/55 FE

Do you need the f/1.4-f/2.5? Do you need AF?

If both questions are answered 'no' then determine which rendering you like better and buy that lens. If either or both of the questions is answered 'yes' then I'd go for the Canon offering.

This is not to say that you should go for the Canon lens in almost any case. One of the strong points of Zeiss lenses is their unique rendering, which is also why my only lens is a ZE.

Personally if you're going to use it for landscapes, go with Zeiss.. You won't need autofocus or f/1.4 most of the time anyway.

If anyone have both lenses to show some photos taken from the same spot form comparison?
Thanks

Wait for a while, Luka and come in and provide all the comparisons you need to make the decision :)
